THE HALLOWEEN MAN is a free Commodore 64 maze game by ready64, published on itch.io on 28 October 2026 (08:44 UTC, according to itch). You play a pumpkin wizard who must collect every star in ten haunted mazes while a witch, a vampire, a werewolf and a pumpkin ghost hunt him. It is not the 1998 Douglas Clegg novel, the Drew Edwards comic, or the Halloween Man cologne.
What is THE HALLOWEEN MAN?
The public itch description calls it a spooky free Halloween game for the Commodore 64 (77). The wizard collects stars to send away werewolves, witches, ghosts and vampires. The developer-provided instruction screenshot uses the proper names Witch, Vampire, Werewolf and Pumpkin Ghost, and it says there are 10 haunted mazes. The developer readme (one source with the screenshots) adds that the game is made for a PAL Commodore 64 and is written in 6502 assembler.
ready64 publishes a run of free Commodore 64 games on the same itch profile, including titles built around a ghost, a werewolf, Dracula and a witch. THE HALLOWEEN MAN is the maze game in that set. The itch genre field says Sports / Simulation, while the tags include pac-man. I describe the play as a maze clear, and I leave the genre field as a label the page happens to show.

The itch page is a download: a .prg of 22,542 bytes, a .d64 around 170 kB, a .tap around 922 kB, a readme, and a source zip. The download page says which file to take and how to start it in VICE. This site does not host the game files.
How a round works
Clear every magic star to finish a maze. A flashing power star turns the monsters blue so you can remove them for a short time. Levels 1–5 are marked easy, 6–8 harder, and 9–10 hard.
